To test or not to test

That is the question…..we are all asking. Canada is the only G7 country to require pre-entry testing from fully vaxxed citizens.

But let’s talk about testing. The rapid antigen test…. did you manage to get hold of a few? They were in demand that’s for sure. When the announcement was first made long line ups formed in pharmacies and in one that I know of the police had to be called. They became so precious that even if you had a bit of a sore throat you agonised about whether or not you should use it. If you were positive then it would be a good choice but if you were negative then it was a waste.

Precious resources during a time of pandemic. I was interested to find out what the most in demand products were online – found these –

Air purifiers
Yoga mats
Fitness devices (like fitbit and smartwatches)
Shapewear
Blue tooth ear phones

Now that says a lot – First of all I want the air purified while I practise yoga at home because the gym is closed. I will make sure to wear my fitbit so I can measure how many calories I burn and I will listen to inspiring music on my new blue tooth ear phones.

After all that I will struggle into my shapewear because all I have done during this pandemic is eat and drink wine because that is all there is to do, besides yoga! And shopping (online of course).

Well there are some of us (confession coming up) who have been travelling anyway and have put up with covid testing in strange places. No I mean having a COVID test at a place in a foreign country – not having a COVID test in a strange place!! Oh, forget I said that.

At least the COVID tests we have here in Canada (and those I have had in places outside of Canada) have been relatively easy to do – I mean down my throat – unlike the anal tests that they do in China. Now if anything is going to get me to stop travelling it would be that! Really – I draw the line somewhere guys.

Now the industry is pressurizing the Government to do away with the pre-entry COVID test for returning travellers. All I can say is that when that happens I am going to burn my yoga mat, drink a bottle of champagne and go on a vacation (not all at the same time).

  1. Iā€™m enjoying your posts.
Is Shapewear is just another euphemism for Spanx?
Am I detecting a theme at the rear end of your posts?
