Move over Days Inn….

Yup – you just didn’t make it did you?  You and your buddies like Travelodge, Super 8 and Mike’s Midnight Motel just missed out being amongst the world’s most expensive hotels.  No shame in that – a deal is a deal as they say.  Except if you happen to be staying at what is described as the World’s Worst Motel – The Metro Motel in Woodside NY – according to actual reviews by actual real people who stayed in this dump.  One review reads –

“it was awful, the made us clean our own room, and when they did clean it our stuff got stolen and they blamed us for leaving our stuff in the LOCKED room. Beware don’t stay there it might seem like a good deal, but if you value your stuff pay a little more and stay some place where your stuff won’t be stolen.”

I LOVE this review – they made us clean our own room.  Sounds like Mom came in and had a hissy fit.

Now this review was posted in June 2006 so I thought honestly, they must have cleaned up their act…. or have they?  Extracts from newer posts….
This place is something out of a horror movie. A travellers worst nightmare.
The staff is very unfriendly and disrespectful. I think they trained them to clean  toilets and gave them this job.
So for a bit more (well let’s face it – a LOT more) money here are the world’s 10 most expensive hotels (aaah we can only dream).
1. North Island Lodge (Seychelles) $5843
2. Laucala Resort (Fiji) $5040
3. Khwai River Lodge (Botswana) $4060
4. Savute Elephant Camp (Botswana) $4020
5. Eagle Island Camp (Botswana) $3970
6. Singita Grumeti Reserves (Tanzania) $3570
7. King Pacific Lodge (Canada) $3249
8. Mnemba Island Lodge (Tanzania) $3100
9. Hotel Cala di Volpe (Italy) $2939
10. Queen Charlotte Lodge (Canada) $2800
Just imagine spending that kind of money on one night’s accommodation.

This looks lovely – but is it worth nearly $6000 a NIGHT????
Who has that kind of money?
justin bieber
He’s got the money – but hasn’t got the class.
dmx
Or the rapper DMX?  He’s got the dough and I know he likes classy hotels as I bumped into him at a fancy joint in Anguilla.  BUT… one would hope if you spend all that money at least you would be sharing the beach with someone like….
