Food for thought

I recently attended a seminar with Oceania Cruise Lines.  I am really impressed with this little company and what they have achieved over the last few years.  They took over three ships from defunct Renaissance Cruise line and now are awaiting their brand new ship – the Marina.  This one has been specially built for them and they have taken advice from frequent cruise guests as well as crew as to what will make this ship absolutely special.

What stands out is that this is definitely a cruise line for “foodies”.  Some of the special touches they have incorporated are quite impressive.  Croissants made from special flour flown in from Paris – Wow!  Really good aged steak – on a cruise ship?  And absolutely everything made from scratch.  The Marina has more galley space for it’s size than any other cruise ship afloat.  It fair made my mouth water to hear all about their innovative menus.  Mmmm wonder when they will invite me to try them out!

I love their special offers too – like 50% off and free airfare to Europe.  Because Europe is the flavour of the month at the moment and generally those who love Europe also love good food, good wine, history and culture.  Oceania looks like it offers all of this and more.
