Naughty or nice

So it is that time of year again. Christmas songs in the background remind us that Santa Claus is going to remember whether we have been naughty or nice. I was on a call with some colleagues in the travel industry and we had a laugh about this. We were discussing which of our suppliers would be on the Naughty list and which would be on the Nice list. It is strange how things change from year to year.

Airlines making us stay on hold for hours and hours (sometimes 8 or 9) would definitely put you on the Naughty list – and I am not naming any names but you know who you are! Also those callers (who did not book with us by the way) phoning up for information about flights, entry requirements, cancellation policies etc and when we say we can’t help they either slam down the phone or say that they will phone another travel agent who is more competent and knowledgeable. OK – into the Naughty list for you.

It’s understandable that people get frustrated. This is a very frustrating time and it has really tried everyone’s patience. Who knew that we would still be going through this nearly two years later. But we are! So let’s just all suck it up.

The Nice List – doesn’t everyone want to get on that list? Santa really likes the Nice list people – and there are lots of those people around. That’s why it is so good for the soul to hear stories on the news about people who go out of their way to help others.

For all those people who serve others at the Drop Inn Centre, the Mustard Seed, the Women’s Shelter – thank you so much. Not only are you on the Nice List – you are on the Heroes List.
